Harlem River Houses is one of my favorite photography projects from 2025. I first visited the project years before its renovation, already aware of its significance in the history of affordable housing, feeling the possibilities of its design. But the intervening years were not as kind as they could have been.
Through the collaboration of a stellar team, that potential has been fully expressed, brought back into good repair and enhanced in significant ways. This complex can once again be one of the best examples of the potential of thoughtfully designed affordable housing.

Comp Sci High for KSS Architects.
Located in the South Bronx, this purpose-built high school creates a campus like vibe for a charter school that had been split amongst several adapted facilities. With ample social space to support its in-classroom learning, the new home of Comp Sci High is a vibrant and dynamic piece of social infrastructure.

The Brooklyn Public Library branch at the L10 Arts Center by Andrea Steele Architecture. The designers created a truly unique environment - a serene retreat, wrapped in undulating wood, a counterpoint to a particularly chaotic Downtown Brooklyn location. The expertly-crafted, integrated wall-shelving-seating system by Situ Studio further elevates this design.

One of my highlights from the last year has been documenting The Eliza for Fogarty Finger. Located in Inwood, this project combines a library, Pre-K, youth-oriented STEM facility, job training center, with 100% affordable housing. This innovative development model creates critical community-oriented social infrastructure. The fact that the building is an elegant, richly detailed stunner doesn’t hurt :) I am thrilled to have been a small part of this amazing project.



And let’s not forget about this outdoor space, giving us a reason to get out of the city :)
