Ksp 58: Sweden’s Cold War Machine Gun That Became a Lasting Service Icon.

The Ksp 58 is Sweden’s designation for the FN MAG, a Belgian-designed general-purpose machine gun adopted into Swedish service in the postwar era. Sweden’s original Ksp 58 was in 6.5 mm, while the Ksp 58B was rebarreled for 7.62×51 mm NATO. The FN FAL became one of the defining full-power battle rifles of the Cold War.

Denmark's M/49 Survived 70 Years Because Switzerland Accidentally Built The World's Most Accurate Service Pistol

The Pistol M/49 is the Danish designation for the Swiss SIG P210, developed at Neuhausen am Rheinfall from Charles Petter's French Modèle 1935A. Its legendary accuracy comes from reversed internal slide rails riding inside the frame and a self-contained removable lockwork unit, widely regarded as the most accurate military service pistol ever adopted. Chambered in 9x19mm with an 8-round single-stack magazine and single-action trigger, Denmark adopted it in 1949 and bought just under 27,000 pistols. Issued as P m/49 or simply Neuhausen to officers, military police, and special forces, it served through the Cold War, Balkans, Afghanistan, and was finally replaced by the SIG P320 X-Carry in 2019 after a seventy-year run.
