There’s something about New York City. For all its flaws, it’s magnetic. Everyone is here chasing something.

Yesterday, I attended a Sony Alpha event for the launch of their new camera and I had the opportunity to shoot some sets and network with people in the community. On top of that, I was lucky enough to meet and learn from my favorite photographer, Emmet Sparling - a real pinch me moment.

Going forward, I want to bring more story into the images I take, to evoke a feeling, a sense of belonging, or something familiar.

I’m looking forward to getting out of my comfort zone, sharing more, and hopefully inspiring someone along the way.

Spent the afternoon walking around the Upper East side and Central Park with Shaj & Teresa! They were so laid back and easy going it made the session feel more like a catch up with friends than anything else!

Spent Sunday afternoon with the Blaize family capturing Zahra’s first birthday in the Upper West Side 📸

When I first moved to NYC, I never pictured myself spending weekends capturing family moments like this. But lately I’ve been leaning fully into photography - something I’ve always wanted to do, but for a long time felt too self-conscious to pursue.

Right now things are messy - saying yes to all kinds of gigs, while figuring out where I really want to carve out my niche. But it feels good to be building something of my own. 📈

Small world moment: last week Jess reached out to book an engagement shoot for her sister while she was visiting NYC. After a bit of back and forth, we realized her fiancé was none other than my old uni friend, Matt. 🤯

It turned into such a special morning capturing their engagement in Central Park, where Matt had proposed a week ago.

Huge congrats, Matt & Louise - I can’t wait to catch up again soon!
