Hello Instagram,

It’s been awhile. The last year was one of our best, yet perhaps ironically, I’ve been finding it more and more difficult to bring myself online to share about it.

We worked with incredible couples, participated in fabulous celebrations, and made some of the best work of our careers…yet I think something I’m the most proud of is the way we’ve been able to protect our presence through making boundaries around technology in our lives.

Building this business, I became chronically online. Anyone else out there know the feeling? 🙋🏻‍♀️

But eventually I started to realize that “promoting myself” online was coming at a huge cost. Hours started disappearing from my days and my phone was never far from my hand. Conversations would be interrupted so I could respond to a DM or check how my latest post was performing.

Social media started to feel like a burden - invading my most intimate moments and sabotaging my ability to be present in my day to day existence.

I believe that one of the things that contributes to great photography is the ability to be FULLY present with the people you’re photographing. And that state of being is a discipline both mental and spiritual.

Posting less often has lost us some followers, but I believe that it’s also helped us to do our jobs better when it really counts.

So thank you for your support and patience Instagram. We’ll still be here. Just - maybe less often then we once were.

Photographs I shot for the lovely in Chicago - edited by me.

Taylor and Alex put together an absolutely unforgettable backyard wedding at their family flower farm. Every detail was intentional. The hyper-local flowers put together by the Bride’s mother, the jazz band that played cocktail hour, the vintage details in Alex’s suit, the hand drawn place cards, and the evening showing of Moonstruck out in the open air. I can’t wait to show more of the details from this celebration. ❤️‍🔥

I can’t believe Taylor and Alex’s big day is right around the corner! I can’t wait to celebrate these two 🥰

As we prepare for the seasons to change we wanted to share a snapshot into the relationship that informs all of the work we do together as Cai & Isabel.

We were so grateful to have come spend some time with us on our homestead recently. She captured the peak of summer harvest, and the hot buzz of activity.

When we’re not traveling the world together capturing stories of love, family and friendship —this is the place we love to be the most.

I just love this spin on the timeless green and white color scheme.

I couldn’t believe it when I realized I’d never actually posted Maddie and Mitch’s sweet engagement from 2022. We found the most perfect slice of Chicago Skyline to shoot against. 🤍
