Something Else is back ✨

"Something Else" returns this February to build on last year’s symposium, revisiting the theme of “emancipation” with new voices and perspectives. Each edition of Something Else posed a question, inviting a response from artists and curators.

Asking how art can help us to explore beyond inherited truths and imagine new ways of thinking, this project fosters face-to-face dialogue, accessible public engagement, and encounters between art, artists, and audiences on the same level.

يعود "شيء آخر" في فبراير القادم مكملاً لنسخة العام الماضي، و التي تناولت التحرر والإطلاق الذهني من خلال أصوات ورؤى فنية جديدة.

تنطلق كل دورة ل"شيء آخر" من تساؤلات، وتدعو الفنانين والقيّمين الفنيين للانخراط معه، بهدف التساؤل عن كيفية مساعدة الفن لنا في استكشاف ما وراء الحقائق الموروثة وتخيل طرق تفكير جديدة، كما يعزز الحوار المباشر، والمشاركة العامة، من خلال اللقاءات، الورش، و الفاعليات التي تجمع الفن والفنانين والجمهور على مستوى واحد.

Something Else: Symposium, the multi-venue contemporary art event, opens on Sunday, February 9th at Darb 1718.

As the Symposium's core venue, our space will witness its definition take shape on the ground—an interactive experience that surrounds the art—just as it witnessed its conceptualization. This conversion from concept to creation was made possible through our valuable strategic partnership with PARAGON Developments (.dev), a leading Egyptian company in the real estate development with creativity at the heart of its projects.

Following the welcome speech, multidisciplinary artist will present his performance, "Out of The Box". Chief Curator Simon Njami () will also be joining us remotely for the evening.

"ملتقى شيء آخر"، حدث الفن المعاصر متعدد المواقع، يبدأ يوم الأحد، ٩ فبراير في درب ١٧١٨.

مساحتنا هي الموقع الأول للحدث، منشأ الفكرة، والركيزة الأساسية في تشكيل هوية الملتقى كتجربة تفاعلية حول المعارض الفنية، تحولها الى واقع اصبح ممكن بفضل شراكتنا مع باراجون، شركة مصرية رائدة في تطوير العقارات، تضع الابداع في صميم مشاريعها.

بعد كلمة الترحيب، الفنان سامح الطويل هيقدم عرضه، "خارج الصندوق". كما هينضم لينا كبير القيمين الفنيين سيمون نجامي عن بٌعد خلال الليلة.
