Happy News!
My first home in “the Hamptons” was in an area known as The Springs. Every day I would pass the homes of art legends Lee Krasner, Jackson Pollack and Elaine and Willem de Kooning. And In the heart of it all is a small building called Ashawagh Hall. For me this was like a little Mecca, I knew that back in those days when the Springs was an unknown backwater, that the Abstract Expressionists began retreating to, de Kooning started the Springs Invitational Art Show at Ashawagh. Over the years, many a very famous artist has exhibited in this show.

This year, the curator is none other than Montauk’s Chris Lucore (The Lucore Art) and I am extremely happy and proud to have been invited by Chris into this legendary show. A piece I created last year, “November Skies No. 8” will be there!

Hopefully, you will be in the area as the opening reception will be this Friday, August 2 from 5-7pm. The exhibition will remain up until August 11 so if you can’t make it to the opening try to visit during the week.

Of course, it’s bittersweet for me as, being in Lisbon, I cannot attend. BUT, please seek out my tremendous friend, the amazing who took on the gig of repping me for this amazing event. (And, as an aside, if you happen to be looking to up your business game, Cara indeed has the Power.)

You won’t be disappointed in this art world tradition and if you can make it, please let me know!!

How can you be two places at once? Well, I may be in Lisbon but also, courtesy of James Katsipis and Chris Lucore, I am in Montauk! I am very grateful and proud to have been invited into the EAST 3 photo exhibition opening this weekend at the Lucore Gallery in Montauk that features 30+ local photographers. It opens Saturday July 20 from 5-8 and you do NOT want to miss this reception as James is a well-noted event thrower. There will be a DJ and a live performance by The Montauk Project. In case you can't make it, the show will be up until August 6. So, please, look out for my appropriately chosen offering "My Holiday On the Beach" - an image, believe it or not, actually created on film and, where else?, in Montauk. Get out there and support your local artists!!!

I am fortunate enough to live near the beach and I know what a difference it makes when I get down there. But that doesn’t mean I can ALWAYS get there. These days require my spending a lot of time here in my Studio . . . which is in my basement and which is not called the Hat Cave for nothing: there are no windows. So, to help keep me sane, I’ve begun putting up a few of my beach scenes. As many of us are stuck inside I thought that maybe this idea could help you or someone you know as well. Therefore, I’ve just put up two of my images from earlier this week onto my site and into my store. AND I’m launching a “Get Outdoors” promo of 10% off everything. So please go, please share and, at checkout, please use the promo code GETOUT. The link is to one image but check out all of the listings in the store. If you don’t still don’t see a particular image or size you need, message me and I’m sure we can figure it out. Meanwhile, let’s all continue helping each other Stay Healthy. -for-sale

Among the many benefits of living full-time in Montauk are the countless opportunities Ric gets to portray the stunning and magnificent landscape of "The End" year round. This is especially true in and around the iconic Lighthouse. As one of Ric's photo mentors once told him: "the important thing is to BE THERE." Whether you have been there or not, here are some top photo ops to keep in your mind.
