For over 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing some of the most iconic figures in music, film, and culture. My work combines the instincts of a documentarian with the precision of portraiture—capturing moments that feel both personal and timeless. From award shows to album covers, my lens has followed talent through some of their most defining moments. Whether shooting on location, bac

kstage, or in studio, I aim to create images that resonate far beyond the frame. Always looking for the next great story to tell—one frame at a time.

Last night was the Songwriter Hall of Fame Gala. One of the coolest events of the year.

It doesn’t have the hype or a major network broadcast. It doesn’t need it. The industry and artists know about it and it sells out every year.

Peer to peer. Every single year I watch one superstar or another acting like a starstruck teenager the second they come across their songwriting heroes in person.

Taylor Swift, Alanis Morissette, Nile Rogers, John Fogerty, Ciara, Brandi Carlile, Paul Stanley, Raye, Jeremy Renner, Walter Afanasieff, Tricky Stewart, Dallas Austin, Liz Rose, Linda Moran, sombr, and Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw. Just some of the names, all in one room.

Just a few frames from the evening.

Scoot McNairy just shows up in films left and right. He’s one of those actors who seems to just love to work at his craft and is solid in everything he does. Understated, present, and just gets it done.

Photographers spend part of their lives recognizing moments and chasing the light. Sometimes though, we just have to stop and do nothing. Summer is finally here.

Being around Michael Jackson in the 1990s was, at the least, surreal.
No matter what the assignment, the energy around him was frenetic in a good way.

I admired his work ethic and his attention to detail. I haven't seen the most recent film about him yet, but it's on the short list. Whether he was attending a press conference about renewing his deal with Pepsi, working with Spike Lee on the video for ‘They Don't Care About Us’, signing a deal with then Sony CEO Mickey Shulhoff, performing with the legendary mime Marcel Marceau, or on stage dancing his heart out at one of his own shows. He was first in and last out when it came to appearance and performance preparation.

It was always exciting and a pleasure to be around him, and you just knew that the moment would be part of entertainment history in one form or another.

You never know where rigging and setting up for a job may take you.

Everyone’s focused on what’s happening out front.
I’m often somewhere else.
That’s me up there.

Often, great actors don't need to do much in front of the camera.

We were set up in a loud and busy area during a film festival when a hush suddenly fell over the space, and in floats Cillian Murphy.

No fanfare, no handlers. Some folks may have been expecting some version of Tommy Shelby, Scarecrow or maybe Oppenheimer. It was just him looking around, making sure he was in the right place for the next few minutes.

Quiet and focused. A few words were said between us, and images were made. As expected, those eyes of his just lit the place up brighter than my studio lights.

Winter held on a little longer this year but Spring has pushed through.

The light hangs on a little later into the evening and there are more warm breezes crossing your face than cold ones. It's just the natural order of things that we barely notice as the seasons have transitioned again.

This couple was married during the Grammy Awards while Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, along with Madonna, sang, and Queen Latifah performed the ceremony.

While most of the audience was watching the stage, I was watching the crowd and hanging back. That’s often the better frame.

Love, captured in celebration.

It was magic, and this kiss was perfect.

Joe Perry is one of the few musicians who helped write the book on what it means to be a Rock God.

He exudes attitude, and it comes as naturally as breathing.

This was an in-store appearance promoting the Get a Grip album release. He climbed the ladder to sign the wall art. At the top, he looked at me as if to say, “You gonna take the damn picture, or am I standing up here for nothing?”

Let’s face it — he’s one of the few guys over 60 who can still rock a pair of leather pants.

All kneel at the altar of Joe.
