Today, August 8th is “International Cat Day” according to the Rijksmuseum! Hence my series of six Cat photographs! One with the fish was graced in ASSOULINE Chic Cat this year! They were all extremely challenging besides procuring the food and the props Fellini had to be wrangled by my husband, Paul. Cats have been used in the arts forever and used in Old Master 17th Century. #

The publisher has just released their book “Chic Cat”. I am honored that one of my images in my cat series, Goldfish and the Cat is in the book! Cannot wait to receive their book. I have two Ragdoll cats, . Fellini is the smaller of the brothers, so is in the six images in the series. Cats were painted in Old Master paintings in the 17th Century. It has been interesting to research and find quite so many.

Detail of the other side of Lilacs and the Intruder, 2025 from the “Cat”series portfolio. Cats were painted in Old Master paintings - always fun to find them. Here the intruder is my ragdoll cat, Fellini who is small enough to fit on the set. His brother, Puccini is 16 pounds and would take over the whole set. The Lilacs are from our garden. Love the fragrance and I guess Fellini did also.
