My grandfather, would take my cousins and I along and just shoot us together when we were younger. As we got older he gave all of us cameras, I remember not being interested, but I still would take the camera. My grandfather would break everything down from using the right lens, to how to control lighting. He has photos of Harlem from 1944 until today, the Polo Grounds Statdium, all the local bars

and, stores that used to be on 125th street, he is my Gordon Parks. It wasn't until I got older that I realize I had the same gift when I started looking back and seeing some of the shots I took of friends. I would always look at buildings, clouds, beautiful people, and always want to capture that special moment. A friend wanted me to print a photo of the Bronx sunrise, that I captured she loved it and encourage me to start shooting more and I did. I started shooting birthday party events in 2003, and that went to shooting some models. I shot my first wedding in 2007 I was nervous but the clients loved their photos. In 2008 I went full force with my photography and started the year shooting rapper Max B., Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, Whitney Houston, Dru Hill, and Maxwell. I also created an event called "THE EVERYDAY WOMAN PHOTO SHOOT". The shoot is an event for the everyday woman, it includes a full photo shoot including a make up artist, and a 1 look photo shoot for a everyday price. I also have a few projects that I'm working on one is called "NOTHING BUT LOVE" this project will be completed Summer 2012. If you're interested in purchasing any landscaping or lifestyle photos feel free to e-mail me. I hope you enjoy my photos and I look forward to your comments. -KAR

There’s something special about watching a chef finish a dish…
that final touch that turns food into art.

Captured this moment of from in his element —
precision, patience, and passion in every detail.

This was from an intimate evening in DC,
beautifully curated for family and friends of international intermezzo soprano
at the penthouse.

Good food. Good people. Great energy.
Moments like this deserve to be remembered.

So many things to say, but I rather just keep moving forward and up. The older I get, the more quiet I become, maybe it’s my tinnitus. I’m thankful for the good the bad and the ugly it lets me know I’m alive.

The 90’s was definitely a “You just had to be there” type of thing. Even though I’m not in photos with a lot of people, doesn’t mean I wasn’t around a lot of people. From leaving Julia Richman in the 11th grade to taking my GED and the next thing you know I was in Norfolk State, living on Reservior Ave. right next store to the biggest drug dealers in Norfolk was crazy. I used to have seizures my back then, it was really crazy. To Internibg at Stress Entertainment and Bad Boy to 3 Boyz from Newark to working with my brother’s Shabazz and Barry at Shabazz Brothers clothing line. Making beats with my boy Lenzo with the ASR-10 and SP 1200’s. To being apart of Rick Kids and ending the 90s working as t Lord and Taylor as a mail room worker and got promoted to an Apple tech. The 90’s was the s**t.
