MATTHEW HITECHEW — "What Is an Appalachian American?"
Jason and I sat down with historian Matthew Hitechew and asked him a question that sounds simple until you try to answer it: what actually makes somebody an Appalachian American? He had a lot more to say about it than we expected — the language, the families, how long "a long time" means around here.
