Today both of my boys are at school and I’m just taking in the mess and memories that we’ve been making.
I realized I never shared why we chose to do a hybrid (part-time preschool/homeschool) schedule this year.
As much as I wanted to do full time homeschool this year, I just needed time for those things we can’t normally do without having a support system here.
Time for me to go to appointments.
Time for me to run errands.
Time for me.
Do I love having a few mornings to myself? Absolutely. Do I love hybrid schooling? Honestly, no. 🙃
While it may seem like the perfect combination of schooling, it just doesn’t work well for us. Mainly because the transitions between home and school days are extremely difficult for my ADHD child. We’re trying to stick out and see if it improves (it’s been hard), but if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that….
What you may think will be great for your kids because it’s great for other families, may be the opposite. Whether you want your kids to do public school, private school, hybrid school, or homeschool….sometimes it takes some trial and error to figure out what’s right for both them and you.
Will we be doing hybrid school next year? Most likely not. But I’m thankful for this experience so we could figure out what works best for us. ❤️
