There's a reason portrait painters never worked from a single angle.

Different poses reveal different things.

The directness of a full face, the thoughtfulness of a three quarter turn, the elegance of a true profile.

A composite portrait draws on that same tradition and applies it to a photograph. The result is a more complete record of a person than any single image could ever be.

Allez les Bleus, even when Mother Nature has other plans. 🇫🇷⚡

France vs. Iraq made history today as the first 2026 World Cup match delayed by weather. Rain, lightning, and 60mph winds shut Philadelphia down at halftime for nearly two hours. But the wait is over, the game is back on, and Mbappé just scored AGAIN.

France 3, Iraq 0.

And while we celebrate, a little love for Le Coq Gaulois, the Gallic Rooster:

🐓 The rooster became France's symbol because the Latin word gallus means both "rooster" AND "Gaul."

🐓 It started as an insult. Medieval enemies of France used the rooster to mock the French, playing on the gallus wordplay. The French basically said "fine, we'll take it" and turned it into a point of pride. Very French.

🐓 It stands for vigilance, pride, and resilience. Fitting for a team that walked through a literal storm and came out scoring.

🐓 Napoleon was not a fan. He preferred the eagle as France's symbol, finding the rooster too "weak" for an empire. The rooster came roaring back after his fall. The people won that one.

🐓 Mbappé now has 60 international goals and 100 caps for Les Bleus. The rooster has every reason to crow.

Pre-storm light in Texas hits different.

Add a pregnant mama, one little boy who has no idea how much his world is about to change, and wind doing its thing, and you end up with images that feel less like a photo session and more like a memory you actually lived.

𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗗

I am making some changes to my B&W Personality Portrait pricing this fall, and I could not be more excited to share them with you.

Starting Fall 2026, children's personality portrait sessions are moving to a per child model at $299 per child. That is $100 less than before, and a structure that just feels right to me. Over the years I have photographed families with one child and families with several, and I wanted a pricing model that feels fair and flexible for all of you, no matter your family size. Each session includes 5 images, with the option to add a larger collection if you want it, though it is never required.

And for my B&W Family Personality Portrait sessions, the price stays the same but your included downloads are doubling from 5 to 10. Because more memories to keep just makes sense.

I have been wanting to make these adjustments for a while now, and fall 2026 felt like the perfect time to do it.

This work means so much to me, and making it more accessible for the families I love photographing is something I genuinely wanted to do.

Hands the size of a walnut.

Feet you could hold in your palm.

A nose that will look completely different by Christmas.

This is why detail shots matter.

Not because they are pretty (though they are), but because the human brain is genuinely not built to hold onto this level of tiny.

You will forget. The photos will not.

Every lifestyle newborn session I do includes time set aside specifically for these images, because they deserve their own quiet moment in the frame.

Real talk about family sessions...

I am never going to make you stand stiff and stare at the camera the whole time.

Yes, we do posed portraits. You need those. They are the ones that end up framed and passed down. But some of my favorite images from any session are the ones nobody planned.

A kid mid-laugh. Someone sneaking a squeeze. The chaos that breaks out the second I say "okay we're done" and somehow it is the best shot of the day.

So we do both. Always.

It makes the gallery feel like your actual family, not just a version of your family that was on their best behavior for an hour.
