So… why Airloom? ✈️
Full disclosure: that's definitely a made up word and partial credit is owed to one of our fellow creative-minded friends.
We wanted a name that meant something - but also didn't define the space so narrowly that it told us exactly what had to happen here.
Because we have a LOT of ideas.
And, in typical creative fashion, we also don't like being told what to do...😂
Now even though it's entirely made up, Airloom has a few little special layers tucked into it.
There's air: the subtle nod to the Rise Above behind RA Productions, and to the creative work we've already spent years doing.
There's a little bit of heirloom in there, too. Something worth keeping. Something made with meaning. A photograph, a piece of art, a story, a memory...something you create that lasts beyond the moment it was made.
And then there's the paper airplane. ✈️
It starts as a blank piece of paper.
On its own, it's full of possibility...but somebody has to do something with it. Fold it. Shape it. Turn it into something. And then, eventually, let that baby fly. Orrrr the alternative: realize it doesn't fly at all and go back to the drawing board to fold a new one!
To us, that felt pretty symbolic of creativity.
We don't want Airloom to be defined by just one kind of creating.
Photography. Video. Art. Classes. Workshops. Bible Studies. Meetings. Events. Celebrations. Collaboration. Learning. Gathering. Trying something you've never tried before. Taking the idea that's been sitting in your head and finally giving it somewhere to go.
That's Airloom.
A little bit of where we've come from.
A little bit of what we hope gets created here.
And a whole lot of possibility for whatever comes next. ✈️
