It’s hard to believe it has already been a year. I created this page in August, and Grain & Grace officially got her name in September. Looking back now, I really don’t think I understood what I was starting or how much it would eventually mean to me I started because I loved photography. That was really it. I didn’t know if people would book with me, where it would take me, or if I would still be doing this a year later. I just knew I wanted to try. A year later, I get to say that people have trusted me with some of the most important moments of their lives, and I don’t think that will ever be something I take lightly.
I could not and would not have made it this far without my clients and friends who believed in me. The people who booked with me when I was brand new, let me practice, shared my work, recommended my name, came back for another session, encouraged me when I doubted myself, and gave me the opportunity to keep learning. There are people who trusted me before I had much of anything to show for myself, and I will always have a special place in my heart for that. This year has been a lot of learning, changing, figuring things out, making mistakes, and becoming more confident in what I create. I still have so much I want to learn and so much I want Grain & Grace to become, but I’m incredibly grateful for where it is today. Thank you. Truly. Thank you for trusting me with your families, your seniors, your babies, your engagements, your weddings, and your memories. Thank you for saying my name when someone asks for a photographer. Thank you for coming back. Thank you for believing in me enough to give me the opportunity to do something I genuinely love.
I wouldn’t be here without you, and I hope you know how much that means to me.
Happy one year, Grain & Grace. 🤎
