I will never apologize for protecting my children.
Not for the boundaries I set.
Not for the people I keep at a distance.
Not for saying no when something doesn’t feel right.
Not for choosing their peace over someone else’s feelings.
You may not agree with every decision I make as a mother, and that’s okay.
But I will never put my children in an uncomfortable, unhealthy, or unsafe situation just to keep an adult happy.
My children don’t need to understand every boundary right now. They just need to know that their mom will always be in their corner.
I will listen to them.
I will believe them.
I will advocate for them.
I will teach them to trust their instincts.
And I will never make them feel like they have to tolerate something just because it might hurt someone else’s feelings.
Being a protective mother doesn’t mean I’m trying to control every aspect of their lives.
It means I understand that they are little people who depend on me to make decisions they aren’t always capable of making for themselves yet.
One day, they’ll be adults and they’ll make their own choices.
But right now, they’re my babies.
And if protecting them means someone thinks I’m difficult, overprotective, or too much…
So be it. I will choose my children’s safety, happiness, and peace over being liked every single time. 🤍
