Hi everyone! Quick update on this page. Some of you know, in growing my business, I’ve had two brands over the last several months. It’s a whole story. There was a reason behind it all, but none of that is important now 😂 It was causing confusion for others, for me, and for my process. So, I’ve absorbed Beauty Awaits Photography into MJPhotography.

I’m still the same photographer, capturing all of the same moments, just with one simple brand to follow!

My OG clients and followers remember when I first started, I was MJPhotography with the tagline “Beauty Awaits.” So I’m really just going full circle back to the beginning 🫣 But it’s okay! Photography is an art, and it’s all about being creative. So, here we are: MJPhotography, with zero plans of changing…like ever. 😂

Why MJ? It’s my initials! Melissa Jane.
My logo? My handwriting over an ICM (intentional camera movement) sunset photo I took in the Keys.
This branding is fully me and will beautifully represent all of my work going forward.

Thanks for following! I can’t wait to see what we create together.

Not every gallery tells the story in the order it happened... and this one is extra special. 🤍

Before Mom and Dad knew whether they were welcoming a little boy or girl, we captured portraits with both blue *and* pink flowers. It wasn't just for fun—it was so Mom could be fully present during the reveal without worrying about tears or mascara. (Spoiler alert: there were definitely happy tears. 🥹)

When the moment finally came, it was filled with so much love, anticipation, and emotion. Watching these two step into the next chapter of their story was such an honor to witness.

A huge shoutout to the incredibly talented Christina Marie Whitfield, who created all of the beautiful décor and the custom sign for this reveal. Every detail was thoughtfully designed and made the moment even more memorable.

Congratulations to the sweet parents-to-be! Thank you for allowing me to preserve one of the most unforgettable moments of your journey into parenthood. 💙🩷

Who says girls have an age limit?

Somewhere along the way, we start believing we're supposed to outgrow wonder. That the laughter gets quieter. The dreams get smaller. The flower fields become something we admire from a distance instead of running through.

But here's the beautiful truth...
You can be a fully grown woman and still twirl in a white dress.
You can carry scars and still carry joy.
You can be waiting on prayers to be answered and still find contentment right where God has you.

These sweet friends reminded me that growing older doesn't mean growing less alive. It means learning that our deepest joy isn't found in having everything figured out—it's found in the One who is.

"So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you." — John 16:22

Never stop being the girl who chases sunsets, laughs until she cries, and trusts that God's plans are always worth waiting for.

Because beauty doesn't fade with age...
Sometimes, it simply awaits.

Graduation season is in full swing! 🎓✨

Congrats to all the grads out there closing one chapter to start another. There’s something really special about capturing this in-between season — the excitement, the nerves, the big dreams, and the “I can’t believe we made it” moments all at once.

Kindergarten graduation session 🥹 yes please!

This guy is the cutest! He LOVES Toy Story so his mom brought all the toys and bubbles and I brought the school desk. It was the best kinder session so far! It’s given me so many fun ideas too 👀
