So excited to announce that my work has been selected to be shown in the show SIREN SONG this work is called Thalassa Beckons and is a Cyanotype on Watercolor paper made with digital negatives. Its images were taken underwater and collaged together by hand for printing.
In this cyanotype, the sea reveals itself as both myth and memory. A luminous figure rises from the depths, her form shimmering between goddess and siren, while the sweep of a mermaid’s tail arcs across the indigo expanse. The piece moves in a dreamlike state, dissolving the boundary between conscious seeing and the visions that haunt our sleep. Within its shadows and starlit blues, the siren’s call lingers — alluring, beautiful, and edged with danger.
Thalassa Beckons is not only an evocation of the mythic sea, but also of our own inner tides. Humanity has always been bound to the ocean: we are drawn to its vastness, shaped by its rhythms, and haunted by its depths. This work reminds us that the ocean is not only outside us but within us — in our stories, our bodies, and the subconscious currents that surface in dreams. When the siren calls, it is not a voice from elsewhere, but a reminder of something we already carry, deep in the marrow of our being.
