For those who don't know me I am a wife and mother of two amazing kiddos. We were blessed once by adoption with my beautiful daughter who just turned 8 and then again with the help of IVF to get my wild and crazy but oh so incredibly loving son who is 3. I grew up in Southern Illinois but moved to Central Illinois toward the end of high school. We currently reside in Ogden, IL but have also lived
in Sidney and Gifford within the last 10 years. Like a lot of people it wasn't until we got our little girl that I realized how much I enjoyed taking photos and capturing all those special moments with her. Since then I had dreams of getting into the photography business one day. Unfortunately, with a full time job and eventually two kids I just never seemed to have the time to make it happen. My son had been born 3 months early in 2017, due to pre-eclampsia. Because of this he had a lot of lung issues in his first three years and aside from his 81 days in the NICU he was hospitalized an additional 8 times (several in ICU) before his third birthday. So, when COVID hit.... we decided it was in his best interest for me to stay home with him and homeschool my daughter to keep our family as safe as possible until things started to calm down. Staying at home allowed me to pick up my camera more and made me fall back in love with photography. While I absolutely adore taking photos of my kiddos they don't love it as much as I do. What is wrong with them? 🤣
So, last fall I put out a model call and finally got to start capturing memories for other families and found it so rewarding. My goal going forward is to not just offer your traditional family sessions but to have multiple affordable themed mini sessions through out the year. I am also still learning and developing my skills so keep an eye out for model calls. This is a great way to get free or discounted sessions and help me grow and explore my creativity.
