Maybe I became a photographer because I needed a reason to slow down and notice the little things.

I came from a life that has always felt like go, go, go. A never ending list of things to do, places to be, people to take care of, somehow always feeling like I was in a rush.

But photography changed that for me! It taught me to pause. To notice the way light hits the trees on an evening walk. The shift in colors with each season. The tiny details of my kids faces that are forever changing. The way someone looks at the person they love. The little moments that would be so easy to rush past if I wasn’t paying attention.

Maybe I’m just trying to romanticize my life a little more. Maybe it’s because I’m a Pisces and being ridiculously nostalgic is just part of who I am ♓️ 💁🏼‍♀️

But mostly, I think I became a photographer because I never want to forget this life. The people I love. The seasons we’ve lived. The ordinary moments that won’t feel so ordinary someday.
