July 3rd 2016 changed our lives in an instant. Our sweet girl was diagnosed with Leukemia, cancer in her blood. I'm incredibly thankful we live just 5 miles from CHOC, one of the most amazing Children's Hospitals. We received beyond excellent care and Emery was blessed was an abundance of toys, blankets & love. It's absolutely amazing what a small toy can do for a long treatment appointment. I've seen this girl's face light up at small surprise bags, her smile for the first time in a week when musical instruments were brought in, and play doh get her up and moving. Children just want to play!
Emery is cancer FREE and had her central line removed in November 2019. But there are still so many families fighting cancer today. It would be challenging NOT to think about the children still in treatment. I'd love to bless them in a small way by donating toys directly to CHOC!
