Hi, I’m Kayla!

I’m a Mississippi-based photographer and the person behind KVB Captures! I take a direct, intentional approach to my work. I don’t just show up and document what happens. I guide when needed, adjust what isn’t working, and make sure the image actually holds the people in it well.

Because this work lasts. Long after the day is over, these are the images people come back to, and who’s in them, and how they’re seen, matters. I take the extra second, make the small adjustments, and create images that reflect people clearly and truthfully, not just quickly.

Outside of photography, I spend a lot of time at Pilates and taking care of my plants (they’re doing their best, I am too), and I’m usually at home with my sweet husband and our two very mischievous cats.

I was so excited to snap photos at Jani’s wedding - and even that feels like an understatement. Many of these photos appear on my personal “Favorite Photos Ever,” list, and I suspect they will be there for a long time.

It felt like just yesterday we were two little girls at Grandma’s house on cousins’ day, so shooting her wedding? So special. Seeing it all through the viewfinder is a great privilege 🤍
