Here we go again.

The Swiss Roll fire is only about 30 acres and has been burning in beetle kill since August 20. They are not planning to engage the fire since it is in extremely hazardous terrain and danger from falling trees. It is not threatening life or property because of it's remote location.

The trail looks easy but loose shale and steep slopes take many lives. Two so far this month 10 since 2000. I've been up there. The peak looks so close, just an easy walk along a knife edge. I started to go then turned around. Just take a picture and call it good.

Adult mountain lions weigh between 110 lbs. and 220 lbs. They are way stronger and faster than a person, able to kill full grown elk. They can leap up to 18' high and 40' horizontally. They don't usually attack humans and flee when they hear voices. When hiking make noise and keep pets and children close.
