Golden hour maternity sessions in Wisconsin just hit different 😍

The sun absolutely showed off for us this night and gave us the prettiest warm, golden light. And this momma?! GLOWING.

Seriously, give me a pretty Wisconsin field, a summer sunset and a beautiful momma any day. These are the nights that make me love maternity sessions so dang much. 🤍

Maternity sessions just hit different in the studio. 🤍

I’ve actually been contemplating creating a maternity package just for moms — because the more of these sessions I photograph, the more I realize how special it can be to have this time be completely about you.

No worrying about what everyone else is wearing. No trying to get little ones to cooperate. No feeling like you need to make it a whole family session.

Just you, your growing belly, and a little space to slow down and really soak in these last few weeks before everything changes.

Pregnancy can feel like such a long season while you’re in it, but somehow once it’s over, it becomes this tiny little chapter you wish you could step back into for a minute.

And I think that’s why I love studio maternity sessions so much. They’re quiet. Intimate. Simple. We can play with different looks, show off that belly you’ve spent months growing, and create something that feels like you — not just photos of what you looked like pregnant, but a reminder of who you were in this season.

So maybe this is also my little reminder that your maternity photos don’t have to be a big production. You don’t need a reason beyond wanting to remember this version of yourself.

And maybe I really do need to make that mama-only package… because these sessions have my whole heart lately. 🤍

I don’t think I’ll ever get over the fact that people trust me with this part of their lives.

You bring me your brand new baby, sometimes only days into figuring out this whole new version of life yourselves, and trust me to document it. That’s kind of wild when you really think about it.

And being a mom myself, I know how weird time is with babies. The days can feel SO long, you’re exhausted, you’re adjusting to everything… and then suddenly you look back and can barely remember them being that tiny.

I think that’s why newborn sessions mean so much to me. It’s not about getting every photo “perfect.” It’s about having proof of what this little season actually looked like. Their tiny face. The way they slept on you. How small they looked in dad’s hands. Even the way you looked at them when everything was still so new.

So yeah, I take a lot of pictures of babies for a living 😂 but it really is so much more than that to me.

Thank you for trusting me with your babies and your memories. I know how much they matter.

I think I can speak on behalf of a lot of photographers when I say… social media is HARD.

I always have the best intentions of sharing every session, but when galleries are constantly rotating, some inevitably get tucked away on an external drive and suddenly I realize I never shared them. And honestly, that makes me a little sad because this space has become so much more than “posting content.” It’s where I get to share the people I’ve met, the moments I’ve documented, and look back at how much I’ve grown through the years.

But between managing home life, homeschooling, two businesses, sessions, editing, and all the little things in between… showing up here consistently sometimes falls to the bottom of the list.

So I’m giving myself a little grace and sharing when I can. I’m still soaking up summer with my boys while also doing my best to serve all of you.

And for today, you get this—the sweetest little sibling bond. 🤍

There’s so much more sitting on those hard drives waiting to be shared. It’ll make its way here eventually. 🥹

I spent this past weekend in Arizona, and it was nothing short of amazing! I got to spend time with some of my favorite people AND photograph two rounds of maternity sessions for them, which made the weekend even more special. 😍

I’m so excited to go through everything we captured, but of course I had to share at least one to start!

There’s something so fun about being pushed outside of your usual scenery, your comfort zone, and getting to create somewhere completely new. I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to photograph these sessions, and I already can’t wait to share more from this weekend!
