There’s gonna be a time in your life where you have nobody around, you’re broke, and life’s just passing you by. Well you’re making music, people are doing other things by getting good jobs and they’re able to pay their bills no problem while you continue to struggle.
Many artists don’t know what to do in that moment. Any artist that became successful didn’t know what to do in that moment. So they kept going even if things go wrong and mistakes are being made. Just like before I started my record label and I owned a sales marketing and advertising company, there were times where I lost contracts and had to pay my employees, and I couldn’t eat or pay my own bills because I used my personal money to cover payroll. And what was worse was that I couldn’t go and get credit, I couldn’t get a loan, I couldn’t do anything, I couldn’t get help, but I had to keep going.
But here’s the thing. We all go through phases, development, and learning, and we must understand that what we’re doing is important. We have to realize why we’re doing this to begin with.
If you haven’t gone through anything like this, then it’s because you haven’t been in the music industry long enough yet.
But if you have gone through this phase or you’re going through it right now, just know that something big is about to happen for you sooner than you realize. You just have to stay consistent, you can’t give up, you can’t walk away. You have to stay strong. You have to keep the faith and have a little grace for yourself even if you’re making mistakes.
Everyone goes through tough times when they’re in the music industry. It’s just a phase, and once you get through it and you come out at the end of the tunnel, you’ll see the light.
So even when nothing’s working and you wanna get a regular job and you wanna give up your dreams of performing music for a living, you may think you’re wasting your time and throwing your life away. At the end of the day it’s just a test. You have to think through it and don’t let intrusive thoughts and tough times steal your dreams.
Think through it and figure out what works for you and what didn’t work for you. And whatever did work, do more of that because if you focus on the things that are working then eventually all your dreams will come true. So just keep going, you’re gonna make it. This music journey is not a straight line. You’re gonna have curves, you’re gonna have bumps in the road, and you just have to navigate through it. I know you can do it. I have faith in you, now you need to have faith in yourself.
