I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this beauty since she’s been 3 years old. 🥹 But we hadn’t done a shoot together since Alice was in 4th grade, so I knew we had to make her Senior Portrait extra special. ❄️AND WE DID!❄️ We risked frostbite in the February snow, 🥶 but looking at these images I think we can all agree that it was well worth it! 💙🩵🤍

I’d been counting down the days to this dreamy photo shoot.

A beautiful 16 year old girl in a breathtaking gold ball gown surrounded by the spectacular fall foliage! Be still my heart!

So this morning you can only imagine how crushed I was to find it was raining, and would be continuing to rain. All. Day. Long.

I called my client, (the mom) and she insisted that there was no way to reschedule for many reasons and that we’d just have to go ahead and do the shoot indoors.

My chest seized up.
My head started spinning.
I could feel myself going into a panic.

As an outdoor photographer, moving forward with this shoot was not only devastating creatively and aesthetically, but SCARY AS HELL technically.

I had to practice breathing.
And trusting.

This was WAY out of my comfort zone.
But This is what was happening.

And I knew that the sooner I accepted reality, instead of resisting it, the faster and easier the divine plan would unfold.

Breathe.
Trust.
This rain, this snafu, this stress, this fear, is too from the light.

I got real curious about how, despite how things seemed in this moment, everything would drastically work out for me.

Then I asked the mom to send me some snapshots of the rooms in her house so I could start to see if this could possibly work.

When I saw her pictures come through on my phone I actually laughed out loud with delight!

There was a large round room encircled with windows that looked out onto the beautiful landscape of the colorful Autumn trees!

It couldn’t have been any more dreamy.

Universe how do you do it???
