Went to a store early last evening and they were out of stock of what I needed. Leaving the shop I found this license plate on a car. No, it was not a Delorean. Wish it was because maybe I could have gone back in time to when they had the item I needed in stock.

Thanks to Donnamarie Davis-Borgia for inviting me to Coffee with a Cop at Peace Valley Cafe. It was a treat because I was able to spend some time with my old friend from 93.3 WMMR, and Peace Valley’s special guest Grover Silcox and do some catching up. Always enjoy his company. I made a picture of Grover with Donnamarie and the Peace Valley Board. What a pleasure and fabulous morning!!

I’m looking through the archives to find images to use in my picture book. I found these classic images from one of the last Louie Louie Parades in Philadelphia.

On May 10, 1987, I photographed the third annual Louie Louie Parade as it took over Pattison Avenue, bringing an unforgettable wave of music and energy to South Philly. The celebration marched all the way to the parking lot of JFK Stadium, where a crowd of 50,000 showed up for the legendary event.

It ended up being one of my last photo shoots for the station at the time — just a week later I gradated from University of the Arts and I was hired as a photojournalist at the Bucks County Courier Times, then in late June I joined The as one of their youngest contract photographers ever.

Leading the party was John DeBella from the Morning Zoo, turning the day into a full-blown tribute to one of rock’s most iconic songs.

If you were there, you already know — it wasn’t just a parade, it was a moment. 🎸

The Mummers have always been part of my family. My uncle, cousins, and friends have spent years strutting down Broad Street every New Year’s Day.
So when Jacky Bam Bam asked me to announce his nightly Mummers Strut around City Hall on 93.3 WMMR a few nights ago, I was truly honored.
As a kid, we’d sit by the window at my great-grandparents’ house at Broad and Tasker, watching the (then) 16-hour parade from the warmth of the living room. I never imagined that years later, working as a photojournalist for the Philadelphia Inquirer, Associated Press and Getty Images I’d become part of that tradition myself—capturing it through my lens.
It’s a full-circle moment, and an absolute pleasure to help bring the strut on the Home of Rock and Roll.
Thank you, Jacky BamBam !

Sad to hear about the passing of Jesse Jackson. When I covered the Ford Motor Company shareholders meeting in 2009 he stopped in the press room and chatted with us for about 15 minutes. To me, it seemed like we were all mesmerized by his presence. Entertaining and personable is how I remember him. Super nice guy.

RIP Jesse Jackson
