From the Philadelphia Inquirer William Thomas Cain became a contract photographer for the Associated Press, as well as joining Newsmakers Online Photo Service, now known as Getty Images, as their Philadelphia based photojournalist. Cain is currently represented by Getty Images, as well as Black Star, where he is the primary news source, linking Philadelphia to the New York and worldwide market.

There’s just something about seeing the Wildwood Tram Car Mini Cooper cruising around town on a warm summer day. It’s one of those little sights that instantly brings back memories of summers at the Jersey Shore—salt air, boardwalk nights, the sound of the tram cars, and that unmistakable Wildwood feeling. Some things change, but thankfully, some just keep rolling along. 🌴☀️🚗

I was upstate on a wedding photo shoot Saturday and didn't have chance to commemorate this anniversary.
AUGUST 1, 2006: I was making weather features for Getty Images during a brutal heatwave in the Philadelphia region. My assignment editor told me that the The Philadelphia Inquirer had just subscribed to Getty Images. Then he told me to make kick some ass pictures today because they wanted a good showing for the new subscriber.
No pressure.
Right?
Well, maybe a little.
Getty Images had been around for a number of years and in the whole time, the Inquirer, where I previously worked, had never subscribed to the news service.
I was out for hours with not much luck. It was so hot that most people stayed indoors after 5 days of 90 plus degree heat and humidity. But I keep at it. From South Philadelphia to Northeast Philadelphia to finally, the Philadelphia Museum of Art where I found these two in the fountain. BAMM!! I knew I had my pics.
So, on the second day of August 2006, one of my weather feature photos I had made a day earlier appeared on the front page.

Looking at this picture that Jacky BamBam of Erin Riley’s new book, “The Mighty WMMR: An Oral History of Philadelphia’s Rock Radio Revolution” resting on the board 93.3 WMMR Philadelphia right where it belongs puts a smile on my face from here to Texas.
Jacky chatted with Erin for his radio show, 7p-12a Monday to Friday (ICYDK) about the book and that “Golden Age” of WMMR in the 80’s.
There are plenty of stories, in their own words, from folks who worked at the station way back when. DeBella, Kendall, Goodman, Bailey, Kratz, Bonadonna, Drue, Tearson, Robert and that’s just a few of the 60 folks interviewed. Musicians, and I mean superstar of rock walked through the doors of MMR on a weekly basis. It was the place to be!
The book also has pix. There’s the classic image of Erin dancing with Steven Tyler as well as a bunch of my pictures from that era at the radio station. Hell, I’m even quoted!!
One of the best things about the book is that you can read and view pictures which give the reader a feeling of the love everyone had for each other.
Like Pierre always said, “WMMR is one big family,” we may not all get along or agree, but the love and respect was and is always there.
With what would have been Pierre’s 71st birthday, find out how he started at MMR, and how he got the midday airshaft and kept it after being the “Nighthawk.”
If Erin does a sequel about today’s MMR she could probably have half a book on Jacky alone with all of his exploits over the years.

Went to a store early last evening and they were out of stock of what I needed. Leaving the shop I found this license plate on a car. No, it was not a Delorean. Wish it was because maybe I could have gone back in time to when they had the item I needed in stock.

Thanks to Donnamarie Davis-Borgia for inviting me to Coffee with a Cop at Peace Valley Cafe. It was a treat because I was able to spend some time with my old friend from 93.3 WMMR, and Peace Valley’s special guest Grover Silcox and do some catching up. Always enjoy his company. I made a picture of Grover with Donnamarie and the Peace Valley Board. What a pleasure and fabulous morning!!
