Sometimes (almost always) when I get homesick, I play a vinyl ✨ When I moved to Philadelphia, I never would have guessed that a band could have so much impact on me after leaving the South. But to me they are more than a band. They are an entire era of my past life. Being so intertwined with them musically, visually, and emotionally will truly stay with me for as long as I can see. I’m lucky to say everyone involved in Swag will be community for quite some time. One, even a bestie ✨ It’s not so easy finding community in a big city but it’s happening. And it’s scary. Nothing could compare to what I had in Columbia, ever. Shooting shows (and just CREATING) feels like I’m putting my heart on the line and I know we can all relate to that. Now that I feel healed after a year (LOL) of R & R and heavy manifestation, I’m excited to jump back into it.
So today and many more days to come is about having gratitude for all the artists back home that healed my heart and allowed it to grow to be who I am today. You held me when I needed it most. I’ll be forever grateful. And specifically, today is for Stag. I love you guys 🫶🏻
