Finally got home and began editing pictures from our 3 day Chesapeake Bay Lighthouse boat trip. puts a great trip together. Saturday and Sunday were pre dawn starts to photographing segments of the trip. You know the ride will be interesting when the Captain asks as you're boarding if you're sure you want to go out and then cancels his afternoon fishing charter while you are out. Seas were 1-2 ' with 15-20 mph winds, building to 5' plus in the afternoon. We rolled in some pretty hairy troughs when we slowed to take some pics.
The white topped lighthouse is the Baltimore lighthouse, out furthest north one of the trip. The black object on the right side is the outhouse which drops you know where so make sure you fish for dinner off the other side.
The Sandy Point lighthouse is centered on the span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. This has recently had major restoration work performed to clean it up.
The next lighthouse was Bloody Point and it has a slight permanent lean to it from ice damage. You can see the mess the cormorants leave on these lighthouses. All three lighthouses are still active.
We were the only boat out that was smaller than this cargo ship! Love our Sea Bands!
