The story of Sheldon, the wandering Peacock.
Sheldon was bullied off the farm last summer by the other peacocks and lived happily down the road in a neighbor's backyard for 8 months. He would call back to his buddies at our farm, which escalated on the day of the Earthquakes, April 5th. Sheldon would wander over to the other neighbors who did not like him and would complain to the town and police. Ultimately, the landlord of the property refused to let her tenants keep Sheldon any longer and insisted we remove him from the property. We were able to capture him on April 11th, and he has been closed up in our barn stall ever since.
In the last 2 days, Sheldon has begun shedding his tail feathers, which is 2 months earlier than usual. We have added a donation button on our website in hopes to raise enough money to buy supplies to create an outdoor aviary for Sheldon and his peahens who have been keeping him company.
