Helloooo! It's been quite some time since I last posted on here, but I wanted to share a shoot I did a few months back. I rented out an Airbnb for this shoot and learned SO much 📸 more on that in a sec...

I feel like in the last year or so, God has guided me in the direction of focusing on the business I own with my husband (MB Woodworking - Biophilic Design & Custom Carpentry 🪴)for the time being. Even though I still shoot often, I sometimes miss making photography my main business goal, but following where God is leading me really is bringing me full joy 🌼

I realized that:
#1. I was becoming burned out on photography
#2. I made it my photo business part of my personality without realizing it.

I had a moment where I felt like a complete failure, but then God showed me that it was because I was putting my worth in my businesses rather than focusing on who I TRULY am... A child of God. I'm not here to work for the world, make everyone else happy, and do what THEY think I should do. I'm here to honor my creator. No more striving, worrying, living in bo***ge, seeing my worth in ANY of my businesses. I am first and foremost, meant to live in complete freedom in Christ, which I am finallllly starting to do. I LOVE my businesses and am beyond blessed to have them, but they are no longer my main focus in life. My main goal now is to make God my main goal for the rest of my life. Completely abiding in Him and is sweet freedom 🌞

Back to these photos...I am still new to commercial photography, especially pet commercial photography, but it's fun to learn new things! I absolutely LOVED this Airbnb but I realized that next time (if shooting with a dog) I need a more open floor plan so I can better light the space with my flashes. I still think these turned out beautifully, especially when dealing with tight quarters! We captured exactly what this amazing client was looking for 🐾 While my main focus right now isn't on photography, my website and business is still running! Ava's mom contacted me the other week asking for a Celebration of Life Session because she just found out her sweet girl is terminally ill 💔 While these sessions are so bitter sweet, they also are the most meaningful. Now she will be able to cherish moments spent with her girl forever 🐾❤️

We made sure to get some shots of her doing her most favorite thing, chasing her frisbee 🥏

It's been a minute since I posted on here! Been very busy working on our woodworking/plant business 🪴🪵 and working on turning this pet portrait business into a more pet brand and other brand photography business 📷🐾

With all of that being said, I still do some portion work if requested. I have so many photos I want to share from this shoot, but I'm starting out with the cake photos for Ellie's 1st birthday! So stinking cute, especially the peanut butter face in the 3rd photo 😂

Hey guys. I hope everyone has been well! It's been a while since I posted so I wanted to share a little bit ☺️ If you're only here for the dogs (which I totally get 😂🐶), you may find this post odd lol. But if you care to listen, I thought I'd share some things that have been on my heart lately ❤️

Over the past year, I've changed drastically. Pretty much a personal exodus of sorts. My faith has grown drastically and God truly has turned my world upside down... In the absolute best way possible 🌞. I could talk on this for HOURS, but for now, I wanted to share some thoughts I've been having on WORK! God has been leading me on different paths in regards to work, so it's been on my mind a lot recently.

I've really gotten so tired of hearing people ask kids "who do you want to be when you get older?". That sentence has set us up to base our worth on our job status. In America, when you meet someone new the first thing people ask is "what do you do?".... Why? That's not who we are. There is so much more to a person than what they do for a job or career.

We slave our lives away in hopes of being "successful", when really, "success" doesn't mean squat. Do I love what I do? YES. 1000X yes! But I know it's not WHO I am. God has shown me my worth is in Him and Him alone. No need to strive to accommodate and please man. I'm over it.

Ask yourself, why do you slave away at your job every day? Do you even like doing what you do? Do you think it makes you "who you are"? Do you think you have no other choice?

I urge you to get yourself out of the comfortable box you've put yourself in. Get close to God. Don't be a people pleaser. Have your own personal exodus. Be weird. Go against the grain. Change the way you were conditioned to think. You will never know everything you need to know. Give yourself grace and know that there's more for you out there ❤️
