I am a marketing, communications, media, and creative professional heavily focused on storytelling. Born in California and raised in Pennsylvania, I studied at Mason Gross School of the Arts, part of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. In 2009, I earned a BFA in Visual Arts, concentrating in both graphic design & printmaking, and was also the recipient of one of two Visual Arts Awards for

outstanding achievement in visual arts. After graduating, I began working for Rutgers University Student Life as the Project Manager for the Marketing and Communications office I had served in as a graphic design intern during my years pursuing my undergraduate degree. While holding this position, I began to do more work with photography and video, quickly helping my department find new ways to incorporate these elements into our marketing and communications strategies. It was at this time that I also became interested in social media, and started my quest to push my department towards using the outlet more. My work in helping our department and its sub-areas make the transition into utilizing social media in communicating with our stakeholders, as well as helping develop policies for social media usage for the university, lead to my appointment as the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications for Student Life. In this position, I was able to grow our student staff through the creation of an in depth internship program, working with multiple professional schools at Rutgers to recruit talented students and increase our workforce from 10 students to 30 in just a few years. In fall of 2013, I returned to the classroom in pursuit of my Master’s in Communication and Information Sciences. This experience has been incredibly rewarding and has helped me put more theory behind the work that I do. Over the last few years spent completing this degree, I have found many great ways to incorporate the knowledge gained and research from this program into my creative practice and direction.

Over the past few years, one of my favorite clients has been . After getting connected through my friend , I have the opportunity to photograph several events for Pratt’s Institutional Advancement unit, but nothing has been as fun as “Casting Call”. Casting Call highlights the amazing scholarship recipients at Pratt, showcasing their immense talent, innovative ideas, and creativity.

This school year was the third time I provided my services for Casting Call, and I definitely have a bunch of photos that I’m excited to share from this project.

I guess I've been neglecting this account a bit, and following the deactivation of my main IG account, it's probably time to make a real effort to share updates here.

Brief(re)intro: I'm Larry McAllister II, a Philly-based photographer creating professional portraiture, documenting wedding and events, and telling stories of everything in between.

On this account, I'll be sharing client work that I'm proud of and behind-the-scenes insights from gigs when I can.

Kicking things off, here are some photos from a lookbook session I photographed for .co a few years back. I really loved this session and will probably be sharing a bunch of posts of the amazing knitwear that I got to photograph that day.

This post is getting a little long, so I'll save some more stories from that day for when I post the other photos.
