Planning a Dolomites elopement? Save this before you book anything 📌
After helping couples plan and photograph weddings in the Dolomites over the past few years, we've noticed the happiest couples all have one thing in common:
They focus less on checking off Instagram-famous locations and more on creating an adventure that's unique to them.
Here are a few things we wish every couple knew before planning their wedding in the Italian Alps:
✨ Don't choose your location based on Instagram. The most popular spot isn't always the right one - trust us. Think about your hiking ability, the season, whether you're inviting guests, level of privacy you envision and the type of experience you want - not just the view.
🌅 Sunrise is (almost) always worth it.You'll usually have fewer crowds, a lower chance of afternoon storms, and access to special experiences like private dock reservations at Lago di Braies and easier access to places like Tre Cime before they become busy.
🚗 Everything is farther apart than it looks.Trying to visit too many locations usually means spending more time driving than enjoying your wedding. Staying near your ceremony locations can make all the difference.
📅 Plan for more than one day if you can.Your wedding doesn't have to fit into eight hours. Spend a few days exploring, hiking, relaxing at your hotel, eating incredible Italian food, and soaking in every moment together..maybe even ending with wedding tattoos?!
