when most people see a camera pointed towards them they stop what they’re doing, & sometimes start smiling and looking at the camera for a more posed photo haha. This when I’ll turn into a “fly on the wall“ so I’m able to capture the candid, emotion filled shots like these- your guests getting teary eyed listening to your vows, you laughing with your bridesmaids, catching up with a guest after not getting to see each other in years, your first moment alone after officially being husband and wife, a unique angle of your ceremony... the list goes on! Will the whole day be captured with a fly on the wall approach ? No, I will step in sometimes for a bit of direction or guidance. But to capture moments like these, that’s what I’ll absolutely be doing 🫶

a lot of couples ask if they should have a shot list- but your wedding photos will turn out better without one, and here is why:

- the day isn’t a photoshoot, it’s your wedding. The point of me being there besides doing *some* posed photos is to capture your day! Capturing what happened, and the way it felt.

- crunching a long shot list into a short amount of time can make you feel like you’re rushing through the day or checking off a to-do list. Enjoy your wedding, I’ve got all the photos taken care of!

- some of the best photos, are the ones you didn’t know were being taken. You hugging your grandparents, laughing with your guests, happy tears, all those in betweens. I promise those will be as special to you as anything else on a shot list, if not more. These photos can only happen if you’re living in the moment, so I can capture a true authentic candid!

The only shot lists I ask for is for any very specific must have photos- this isn’t for things like the first kiss, first dance, etc. this is for things that may be more unique to you, like a very specific pose with your friends for example. This is where I’ll ask for that, & your inspo photos. The second list I’ll ask for is for family photos, so we can take them as efficiently as possible! Finishing family photos quicker means getting back to the celebration quicker. More organized, & no forgetting what groups we did or didn’t do yet.

In conclusion- no shot list = better / more authentic photos, and a way more enjoyable wedding day for you! 🥰

My style is a blend of documentary and editorial- meaning most of your gallery is going to be filled with photos like these, plus I will step in to give direction if needed during portraits!
