Angelique & Andrew 🌿

An Italian-garden inspired summer wedding, at a venue they picked the moment they saw it — The Estate at Florentine Gardens delivered on every bit of classy, elegant, romantic they were going for.

The morning started the way the best ones do — Angelique getting ready surrounded by her girls, Andrew prepping alongside his brother, wearing his late father’s watch. A small detail, but the kind that carries a lot. Andrew felt every bit of it. He teared up during their first look, and that same sentimentality followed him right through the day.

They kept everything at one location, which meant time was actually on their side — a first look, plenty of room to breathe through portraits, and a ceremony in a space filled with light. During cocktail hour they slipped away for a few minutes to catch golden hour together, then came back and danced the night away.

Brianne & Brian 💙

There’s a first look, and then there’s a first look on a beach with sailboats drifting by in the background — that’s how this day started. Before the ceremony, before the guests, before any of it, it was just the two of them on the sand.

Blue was woven through the whole day — the sky stayed soft and clear, and the color carried through the details, right down to the dress Brianne’s mom wore getting her ready that morning.

With just the two of them at the center — no bridal party this time — the day had this quiet focus on Brianne and Brian, and on the family that raised them to this moment. Vows in a beautiful stone church, then out the doors into a cloud of bubbles for their first kiss as married — and then, nearly 300 guests. Cocktail hour that didn’t quit, a reception that ran all night, dancing that never really stopped.

This one was a party from start to finish, and we loved documenting it!

Christie & Mark 🤍 Indian Trail Club

On-site prep, a first look and portraits before their church ceremony, then an afternoon by the lake with the whole wedding party cheering them on. Christie added sleeves to her gown for the ceremony — such a beautiful detail. Every moment of this day felt unhurried, thanks to a gorgeous timeline built by Wedding Planner | NJ | NYC | LA | Destination Weddings that left so much room to just enjoy it all.

Annalise & Matthew - as classic as it gets. 🤍

They spent the day at the Ryland Inn surrounded by the most romantic blush, blue, and lavender florals, then slipped away for their ceremony at Our Lady of Perpetual Help before coming back to celebrate in black tie style. No first look, but they exchanged letters beforehand - just enough to settle the nerves before that aisle reveal.

Annalise arrived in a Rolls Royce and later changed into a second dress made from her mother’s wedding gown to dance the night away in — heirloom details like that are the ones that stay with you. Jimmy Choo bows, candlelit tablescapes, and a four-tier cake dripping in garden roses rounded out one seriously gorgeous day.

Turns out, we were too busy living summer to post about it. 🤍

32 weddings between Memorial Day and Labor Day alone this year. Add in engagement sessions, portrait sessions, editing days, meetings, family time, vacation, summer nights, little adventures and everything in between… and somehow summer happened in the blink of an eye.

Back in July, I thought I’d finally catch up and start sharing everything happening behind the scenes. IG says my last post was on July 9th. 🙃 Clearly, that went well. 😂

But looking back through these clips, I’m kind of glad life won.

This summer was full. Full of work I’m incredibly proud of, places we got to see, people we love, celebrations we were trusted to capture, and memories we got to make ourselves.

And somewhere in the middle of all of it, I kept having those moments where I looked around and realized just how lucky I am to do all of this alongside the absolute best team. There’s no way this season happens without them. 🤍

There is SO much I haven’t shared yet - and maybe eventually I’ll catch up.

But for now, here’s a little bit of the summer that kept us too busy to post about it.

Taylor & Jake picked one of the hottest days of the summer to say “I do” - with temperatures reaching 100°+, you’d think the weather would steal the show but it certainly did not!

Instead, the day became a perfect example of how a little flexibility goes a long way. We found a shaded spot for their first look and portraits, took breaks indoors when we needed to cool off, and were especially grateful for Indian Trail Club’s beautiful cocktail hour space, which gave us a light-filled location for portraits without missing a beat.

When it was time for the outdoor ceremony, a welcome breeze rolled through just as guests settled in. Between that and the fans Taylor & Jake thoughtfully provided, everyone was able to stay comfortable and focus on what mattered most - the two of them.

And once the reception began? The dance floor had more than enough energy to make everyone forget it was 100 degrees outside.

A little heat wasn’t going to stop this celebration. 🤍

I’m Alex — photographer, founder, and the woman behind Idalia Photography and Idalia Bo***ir.

Ten years ago, I walked away from a 14-year teaching career to build something I couldn’t fully see yet. No business plan. No guarantee. I just knew I had to try. I remember the fear. I also remember the feeling that this was exactly what I was supposed to do.

What I couldn’t have predicted was how much the people on the other side of my camera would shape who I became. The couples who booked me when my portfolio was thin and my confidence was thinner. The brides who handed me the most important day of their lives and said “I trust you”. The families who kept coming back. The women who cried in my studio because they finally saw themselves the way I saw them.
You built this with me. I want you to know that.

A photograph isn’t just an image — it’s proof. Proof that you were here. That you were loved. That this moment happened and it mattered. And when that image lives in a printed album, on a wall, in the hands of someone who comes after you - it becomes a legacy. That belief has carried into everything I’ve built.

One of the things I’m most proud of is the team I’ve grown alongside. Talented, driven people who are becoming. To lead well, share what I’ve learned, & create space for them to build something of their own — that matters to me as much as anything else.

Over the last few years I’ve also been building our bo***ir studio - a space where women come to be seen. Not just to create a gift or mark a milestone. But to exist in their own beauty and be witnessed. Built with an all-female team, because we believe a woman who walks through that door should feel safe, held, and completely at ease.

These photos were taken by my team photographer Chelsea — and stepping in front of the camera reminded me exactly how vulnerable that feels. How much trust it takes. It’s something I carry with me every single time.

Some weddings feel like a celebration of not only where a couple is going, but where they’ve built their life together.

For Taylor and Nick, that place is Red Bank. They began their day overlooking the Navesink River before they exchanged vows at St. James Church. From there, we explored the waterfront for portraits before making our way to Navesink Country Club, where guests celebrated against the backdrop of the same Monmouth County scenery that inspired so much of their wedding day.

Every detail reflected the life they’ve built together. Rich greens mirrored the lush golf course landscape, while soft blues were inspired by the nearby coastal waters. Meaningful heirlooms - including a Waterford Crystal cake cutter that has been used at multiple generations of Nick’s family weddings - added another layer of significance to the celebration.

One of our favorite moments was sneaking away for golden hour portraits as the sun dipped across the course, creating the most incredible glow. And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any better, Taylor changed into a second dress and danced the night away.

A day filled with meaningful places, family traditions, and a beautiful reminder that sometimes the place you call home becomes the perfect place to begin your next chapter.

Black and white has a way of bringing you back to what you felt.

The day began high above Manhattan in a penthouse overlooking the skyline, where Alexa shared a bridesmaid reveal on the terrace with cinematic wind and incredible city views that felt straight out of a movie. From there, they made their way to Trinity Church, the very place where Barrie proposed, making their ceremony even more meaningful. There are churches, and then there are churches... Trinity was absolutely epic.

As the sun set, everyone headed to Roosevelt Island for an open-air celebration surrounded by skyline views and city lights. There is something about city weddings that feels different. The energy, the movement, the way every corner becomes part of the story.

A huge thank you to their planner for keeping so many moving pieces flowing seamlessly. Between transportation logistics, traffic, timelines, and coordinating a wedding day across New York City, she made everything feel enjoyable and effortless for everyone involved.

Open air reception views. A choreographed first dance that impressed us all. And a wedding day that felt unmistakably New York from beginning to end.
