Some weddings feel like a celebration of not only where a couple is going, but where they’ve built their life together.

For Taylor and Nick, that place is Red Bank. They began their day overlooking the Navesink River before they exchanged vows at St. James Church. From there, we explored the waterfront for portraits before making our way to Navesink Country Club, where guests celebrated against the backdrop of the same Monmouth County scenery that inspired so much of their wedding day.

Every detail reflected the life they’ve built together. Rich greens mirrored the lush golf course landscape, while soft blues were inspired by the nearby coastal waters. Meaningful heirlooms - including a Waterford Crystal cake cutter that has been used at multiple generations of Nick’s family weddings - added another layer of significance to the celebration.

One of our favorite moments was sneaking away for golden hour portraits as the sun dipped across the course, creating the most incredible glow. And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any better, Taylor changed into a second dress and danced the night away.

A day filled with meaningful places, family traditions, and a beautiful reminder that sometimes the place you call home becomes the perfect place to begin your next chapter.

Black and white has a way of bringing you back to what you felt.

The anticipation before getting dressed. A father seeing his daughter on her wedding day. The words written down before “I do.” The joy on the dance floor. The in-between moments that somehow become the ones you hold onto most.

Color tells you what it looked like. Black and white reminds you what it felt like.

FAQ: Do you include black and white images in our gallery?
Absolutely. Every image is processed in color first to ensure your gallery feels cohesive and true to the day. From there, we thoughtfully select certain photographs to convert to black and white based on how we feel the image is best represented. Emotion, light, movement, and storytelling all play a role in that decision because some moments simply feel timeless in black and white.

We believe your photographs should feel just as meaningful decades from now as they do today. Through thoughtful preparation and intentional storytelling, we create images designed to live beyond the screen and become part of your legacy.

If timeless storytelling and meaningful imagery matter to you, our 2027 + 2028 calendars are now open. We’d be honored to preserve your celebration. Inquire at the link in bio!

The day began high above Manhattan in a penthouse overlooking the skyline, where Alexa shared a bridesmaid reveal on the terrace with cinematic wind and incredible city views that felt straight out of a movie. From there, they made their way to Trinity Church, the very place where Barrie proposed, making their ceremony even more meaningful. There are churches, and then there are churches... Trinity was absolutely epic.

As the sun set, everyone headed to Roosevelt Island for an open-air celebration surrounded by skyline views and city lights. There is something about city weddings that feels different. The energy, the movement, the way every corner becomes part of the story.

A huge thank you to their planner for keeping so many moving pieces flowing seamlessly. Between transportation logistics, traffic, timelines, and coordinating a wedding day across New York City, she made everything feel enjoyable and effortless for everyone involved.

Open air reception views. A choreographed first dance that impressed us all. And a wedding day that felt unmistakably New York from beginning to end.

Alexa and Barrie, thank you for trusting us to capture your beautiful wedding!

Over 14 years ago, Idalia Photography started as a husband-and-wife team showing up with cameras, excitement, and a dream. Over the years, a lot has changed. What began as two people has evolved into a studio and a team of incredible photographers, assistants, editors, and creatives working together behind the scenes to serve our couples.

But one thing has never changed: we’ve always believed that the experience matters just as much as the photographs.

We don’t pull together random photographers who happen to be available for your wedding day. We’ve grown together, trained together, and learned how to work as one seamless team. We know who’s fixing a veil before portraits, who’s organizing family photos, who’s setting up lighting, who’s watching for the emotional moments, and who’s stepping in before you even realize you need something.

As we’ve grown, we’ve also built something we simply didn’t have in the early years: support systems and backups within our team. Life happens, emergencies happen, and having a team means our couples are never left carrying that stress. That also means I sleep better at night knowing we have solid backups in place. 😅 There are layers of preparation, communication, and support in place long before a wedding day ever arrives.

The goal has always been to create an experience that feels calm, elevated, and stress-free so our couples can simply be present and enjoy the day they’ve spent so much time planning.

Watching this team work reminds me how grateful I am. Grateful for every couple who trusted us over the last 14 years, every team member who became part of this journey, and every season that pushed us to grow into what Idalia Photography is today. What started as two people became something so much bigger than I ever imagined, and none of it would exist without you. 🤍

Amanda and Dan’s wedding day at Valley Regency proved that the energy you bring into your marriage matters more than the weather outside. It rained almost the entire day, but not once did they let it affect the experience. They trusted the process, embraced every pivot, and focused on what actually mattered: celebrating with the people they love most.

Our team created the majority of their portraits indoors throughout the venue, and while the rain stayed steady for most of the day, the skies finally cleared while there was still daylight left. Amanda and Dan were able to step outside for the outdoor portraits they had been hoping for, and they were absolutely worth the wait. A perfect reminder that sometimes the best wedding days aren’t the ones that go exactly as planned - they’re the ones where everyone chooses joy anyway.

Also incredibly grateful for a team that knows how to roll with whatever a wedding day brings. Rain plans, timeline pivots, moving quickly between indoor locations - everyone showed up with calm energy and creativity all day long to make sure Amanda and Dan could stay fully present and enjoy every moment. Days like this are a perfect reminder that a great wedding experience is never dependent on perfect weather!

Katherine and Daniel’s wedding day was the perfect reminder that when an incredible team of vendors comes together, the result is pure magic. Every detail was executed so thoughtfully - from the towering floral installations and candlelit reception to the soft draping, custom dance floor, and even the incredible custom bar installation that completely transformed the space. Every corner felt immersive and intentionally designed.

The forecast had us pivoting their first look indoors, but somehow the rain cleared at exactly the right time and we were able to head outside for all of the portraits they had envisioned. Between the grounds, the romantic interiors, and the dreamy light after the storm passed, every part of the day photographed beautifully.

And then came the reception transformation. Katherine changed into a second look with a completely different hairstyle that brought such a fun shift to the energy of the night. From emotional moments to fireworks and one packed dance floor, this celebration felt just as joyful as it was beautiful.

So much gratitude to the incredible vendor team that brought this vision to life and made the entire day feel seamless from beginning to end. It was such an honor to document alongside so many talented creatives. 🤍🤍🤍

Katherine and Daniel’s rehearsal dinner and welcome party felt like the perfect kickoff to a wedding weekend at the shore. Every detail was designed to feel thoughtful, relaxed, and fun for their guests - from the farmer’s market-inspired station filled with favorite local treats to the recovery station, custom hot press t-shirt station, and so many personalized touches woven throughout the night.

It was the kind of evening that made everyone feel instantly welcomed and set the tone for what’s already shaping up to be an unforgettable weekend. And if last night was any indication, we can only imagine what they have in store for their wedding day today. 🌊

Katherine and Dan’s wedding weekend is finally here, and it feels like we’ve been counting down to this celebration for months. From their engagement party, to their shore engagement session, to Katherine’s bridal shower, it has been such a joy documenting every chapter leading up to this weekend.

Today I’m heading to Chateau Grande Hotel for their welcome party, and tomorrow they’ll say “I do” at Park Chateau Estate. Not only am I so excited to kick off my spring wedding season with these two, but I’m equally excited to work alongside such an incredible team of vendors all weekend long.

I also cannot wait to see all of the details that Diane from has created for this one. Knowing this team, every part of the weekend is going to feel thoughtful, intentional, and beautifully designed.

Follow along on stories for all the behind-the-scenes moments from this beautiful wedding weekend.

There are weddings where every single detail feels intentional - and then there are weddings like Heather and Greg’s, where the details feel inevitable. Like they couldn’t have been any other way.

The Mill was the perfect backdrop for their day. Those warm, textured walls and natural light were made for the soft palette Heather had so carefully curated - creamy neutrals, elevated baby’s breath that felt anything but expected, and that gorgeous sage running through everything from her bridesmaids’ gowns to the subtle tones of Greg’s suit. It all breathed together. Nothing competed and everything belonged.

What we love most about photographing weddings like this is how the aesthetic and the emotion mirror each other. Heather and Greg weren’t trying to put on a show - they were simply, fully present.

Heirloom images. A day designed to be remembered. That’s always the goal - and Heather and Greg made it easy.

If you’re planning a NJ wedding and dreaming of photos that feel this elevated, this personal, this *yours* - we’d love to chat.

Dusty rose, powder blue, peach, ivory - there is something about a spring color palette that never gets old. No matter how many weddings I photograph, this season always feels like a reminder of why I do this work.

Our team is kicking off May this weekend with three weddings and I am genuinely excited. The florals are blooming, the light is soft, and the couples we get to work with this month are incredible. 🌸

This is the part of the year I look forward to most. Here’s to a beautiful May. 🥂
