What a memorable evening!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration of rGRAY photography.

We are grateful to the Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce for organizing the event, and to the local and state representatives who took the time to attend and present certificates recognizing this milestone.

Most importantly, thank you to our family, friends, clients, fellow business owners, and community members whose support has helped make this dream a reality.

What began as a home-based photography business in 2018 has grown into a studio dedicated to celebrating athletes, seniors, professionals, artists, and the people who make our community special. To see so many familiar faces gathered at our studio was both humbling and inspiring.

Thank you for believing in us, supporting local business, and helping us celebrate this exciting chapter at 320 Main Street, on the corner of Main Street and Wynn Lane, in beautiful Port Jefferson.

Here’s to the next chapter. 🥂

Yesterday was Anton Corbijn’s birthday, so I felt compelled to post some black & white images from our recent session with Dakota.

Anton’s work has influenced me for years — not just visually, but emotionally. There’s an honesty and atmosphere in his images that always stayed with me. Imperfect in all the right ways. Grainy. Shadowy. Quiet. Human.

Black & white photography strips things down to expression, light, texture, and mood. Without color competing for attention, emotion tends to come through a little louder. Sometimes a monochrome finish feels less like a “style choice” and more like the way an image was always meant to exist.

These images were created with that spirit in mind. Moody, cinematic, a little raw, and centered more around feeling than perfection.
