The nervous ones always surprise themselves
She was worried she'd look awkward. She was wrong.
Almost every senior walks into their first session nervous. Worried about what to do with their hands. Sure they're "not photogenic."

Location matters.
A brick wall is not a personality.
Where you shoot says something. A location she picked (a trail she's run a hundred times, the neighborhood she grew up in, somewhere that means something) adds a layer that no backdrop can replicate.
Portland and its suburbs offer incredible variety: forests, waterfronts, fields, urban spaces, hidden spots that look like nowhere else. The right location for your senior's session isn't generic. It's specific to her.

Props are personal, not performative
If she's bringing something, it should mean something.
