MSM Photography by Michael S. Moore I love getting out into nature with my camera to capture all that I can. Living in NW Wyoming, I have some the most beautiful scenery in the world around me.

Please feel free to enjoy the images I post. If you are interested in a print, please PM me.

Today, my good buddy Levi and I decided to take a quick trip into the Park. First visit to the Park this season. We only had about 4 hours to leave from Cody and get back in time for dinner. With some road construction delays, it took about an hour to get to the East Gate, leaving us only about 1 hour to see what we could see in Yellowstone. We got as far as Yellowstone Lake and soon ran into what was clearly a "bear jam." Tons of cars and people everywhere. As we made our way through the jam, we were excited to see 2 grizzlies, a mating pair, not too far off the road on the other side of the river. The male is "named" Quill, and the female is Snow. We pulled over and I jumped out with my gear and got set up alongside the other 500 people jockeying for a good spot. It ended up being one of the coolest interactions I've seen between bears. They nuzzled each other and both seemed to have peaceful smiles. Snow then playfully rolled on her back. When you see this kind of interaction, it's hard to not apply human emotion to these animals. There definitely is some tenderness involved, it seems, but in the end, I just have to look at their claws and teeth and remember that under the right circumstances, they would have no problem making me their dinner. That is why we show respect and keep a safe distance from them. Once again, I left feeling so grateful for the opportunity to see such an amazing sight, and yes, we made it home in time for dinner 😁

It never ceases to amaze me how I'm able to see all these creatures and more on any given day, and they are all in my backyard....well, sort of. I took each of these pictures today on a 1 hr. drive in, and 1 hr. drive out of the North Fork. Incredible! Have I mentioned before that I love where I live??

A couple of days ago I was on my way back into town from the Powell landfill. I was thinking about photography and the fact that I haven't shot anything for a while. I happened to drive by a place not far out of town and saw these amazing (what I assume to be) Texas Longhorns (I'm not a livestock guy, so correct me if I mis-assumed). I decide to stop and take a few shots. They are pretty amazing creatures, and definitely something I've never shot before.

I hadn't planned on waking up for the lunar eclipse/blood moon, but my body had different plans and I woke up anyway, even if it was a little late. I missed the totality but got a few shots shortly after. Pretty neat to see!

As much as I would love to see Lady Aurora come out to play in our area tonight, I'm already quite satisfied with the sunset we were able to witness this evening! I've always wanted to capture a beautiful sunset from the bridge on the Belfry Hwy (near the Park County Sheriff Dept.), and tonight it worked out. The reflection on the Shoshone River was amazing. I also liked that there was a fly fisherman in the middle of this beautiful scene. Now let's hope the Northern Lights make an amazing appearance!

The last time I saw this unique elk was on November 3rd. I've been back a couple of times and have not seen her with the heard. I'm hoping she is still around because I'd love to see her again next year. Just in case, I thought I'd post a few more shots that I got of her in early November. I've stated that she is a "Piebald" elk, but have heard from others that she may have a condition called "Leucism" which is defined as "A partial loss of pigment, causing white patches or overall paleness, but with normal eye color." I don't know which is correct, but either way, she is definitely unique and was really fun to see.

I haven't gotten a lot of muley shots in recent memory, but I saw this buck up the South Fork the other day and decided to spend some time with him. Although not a massive buck, he is certainly respectable and is very healthy looking. We see so many mule deer in this area that they kind of lose their appeal, at least for me. It is still fun to see a nice-looking buck though.
