Friends, summer will arrive in the Shire in less than a week! And this year I wanted to revise my Summer vision board.
So very soon, the garden will be heavy with tomatoes and herbs, berry baskets will be filled by the door, and second breakfast will occur later into a few lazy days. We'll lunch beneath the trees on hotter, heavier days!
I am so ready for bare feet in the creek, book time outside before the heat of the day, and laundry that will dry quickly on the line in the warm breeze.
The days grow longer now as we approach the Longest Day of Them All with the solstice, which gives us extra lightot linger a little more before the days begin to wane again towards Fall!
May we use this extended time to sip our tea/coffee/lemonade on the porch, gather our herbs and flowers from the garden, and swing until our legs grow weary!
Let's watch fireflies instead of screens. Let's trade some of our burdensome hurry for a bit more wonder. Let's find some cheer in our homes when the chores call our name.
A Hobbitcore Summer in the Shire reminds us that an ordinary life can be a beautiful one, even with the responsibilities that still require our attention.
If you're longing for a simpler and more intentional summer season, I have a few Hobbit-hearted summer posts from last year waiting for you over on Substack, and I'm already working on a few new ideas for a slow summer ahead!
Tell me in the comments what your ideal Hobbitcore summer day looks like! ๐
