Well this is a little different from my typical post.
This image may not mean much to many people, most of you have no idea what it even is.
But let me tell you.... This is one of the most exciting photos I have ever taken, and by far the longest exposure I have ever taken.
This is a pinhole camera photo, The camera was made of an empty coke can, a small piece of tape, and developing paper!
I put the pinhole camera in place on September 1st 2025. I took it down today!
What you're looking at is all of the sunrises and sunsets between then and now!
That's the change of the Earth and the pattern that the sun makes every time it rises and sets behind my school! You can see the trees in a silhouette and if you look close enough you can see a fence and a building!
My camera settings.
Shutter speed: 239 days and 16 hours.
F-stop. F132
Iso is 100 (or equivalent based on paper)
In my classroom I teach the basic fundamentals of photography all the way back to camera obscura and the first photographs ever taken. At the beginning of the year I explained this process and how it worked, I put the can in place, and let it sit there. Tomorrow the students will see this for the first time! They will have the opportunity to understand photography to the core, because they chose to be part of my classroom.
This is the most basic fundamental of photography, proving that all you need is light and a way to capture it!
I'm so happy with this!!! 🔥👌
