Making time to slow down and get out in nature with my husband these past couple of weekends has been so good for my soul ⛰️💛
Since around May, when all the craziness with my new business started just before launch, life has felt hectic and stressful, to say the least. So much has happened, and I found myself back on the hamster wheel, constantly striving and trying to fix one problem after another.
I’ve always thrived on being creative, but building a business has asked me to stretch into so many other roles: thinking analytically, making hard decisions, and learning to let go quickly. Somewhere in the middle of all that, I lost myself again. And as I tried to find my footing, I was also navigating the loss of my income, watching my business eat up our savings, and learning to trust God more deeply through it all.
Making room for play, discovery, and exploration, taking deep breaths, smiling, and admiring the nature around us has felt so healing. I get to do it with my husband, who I’d happily spend time with 24/7, even after almost 10 years of marriage. We’re very different in a lot of ways, but creating together is one of the ways we connect deeply.
There’s a lot happening in my life that I can’t share just yet. When everything feels busy, slowing down can seem like the wrong move. But sometimes we need to slow down to speed up and make sure our foundation is solid before we build on it.
What have you done recently that truly brought you joy? 🍂
