Visiting my great-grandfather’s home in Abruzzo with my dad and Ross was an experience I’ll hold close forever. Watching my dad fulfill this lifelong dream of meeting his cousins and relatives, and learning centuries of Mattozzi history in the Appenine mountains, made it beyond special. Our family plaque is still in the original Mattozzi home which is now a beautiful restaurant. We swam in the Adriatic on Ferragosto and enjoyed a couple weeks of Italian summer. This was a trip of a lifetime and I know it won’t be the last time. 🇮🇹
