One of my favorite things about in-home newborn sessions is that they preserve more than just what your baby looked like.
They preserve where life happened. The nursery you spent months preparing. The couch where everyone piles together.
The little hands learning how to be big brothers. Years from now, these images won’t just remind you of your newborn. They’ll remind you of your home, your family, and what life looked like when your newest little love arrived. If you could freeze one room in your home forever, which room would it be?

What a difference a year makes. Just a year ago, we were in this very nursery capturing her newborn portraits, documenting those first days as a family of three. I returned to the same space for her first birthday session, and it was impossible not to notice how much has changed. The tiny baby who fit so perfectly in her parents’ arms is now full of personality, smiles, and curiosity. These side-by-side moments are such a beautiful reminder that while the days can feel long, the years truly do fly by. 💕

What started as an overcast evening and a little bit of rain turned into the most beautiful sunset over the water by the end of our session. The perfect way to wrap up such a special evening with this sweet family. It was a little reminder that sometimes it’s worth holding out, because the most magical moments can happen when you least expect them. I loved this session so much and have too many favorites not to share… so this one is getting posted in two parts 🤍
