Let's talk Full Sessions! My books will be opening for 2026 on January 1st. I will be launching my website, a years worth of availability, & the 2026 Packages all together. I've never been so organized in my life. LOL
While I have been focusing on Mini Sessions to make family portraits more accessible to most people, there is something different about the experience during a full session. A full session gives you & your family the time to relax & live in the moment. In my opinion, this results in much more wholesome moments being captured by your Photographer. The length of time for a full session also allows your Photographer to really zone in on your style & the cute little quirks that make your family so special. The final images are of much higher quality & replicate who you & your family truly are. I can only speak for myself, but I generally only schedule one or two full sessions in the same 24 hours. This allows for more coverage time & focus during your session, but it also allows your Photographer far more time to edit, ensuring every tiny little detail has been touched in your entire gallery.
I see so many photographers leaning towards solely shooting Minis. You definitely make far more money in a 24 hour period, but the end result isn't near the quality of Full Sessions. Minis are a fantastic way to bring in more clients, but the ultimate goal here is to build a relationship with each one of those clients & seeing their families year after year offering them the most quality experience possible.
If you've been contemplating booking a full session to update your family photos, or maybe it's the first time you've taken Professional Photos, here are a few things that may help lessen the blow of that higher price tag.
1. When booking with Savage Perspectives, you do have the opportunity to use Klarna & Affirm to finance the cost of your session.
2. Booking requires a deposit of 50% of the session cost. You can book now for a session in September or October, leaving ample time to save for the remaining balance & get the perfect outfits together.
3. Outfits are a huge stress to most people when they think about Professional Photography. & yes, I do believe that outfit choices can make or break the quality of an image. I also believe that it's something that shouldn't require that much thought or anxiety. LOL Wear what you have in your closet that makes you feel the most confident & comfortable. Dress your children according to that same guideline. & if you're not the best at coordinating outfits, reach out to your Photographer for a little guidance.
Bonus Tip: If your Husband/Significant Other not wanting to be in front of a camera is what's stopping you from booking, leave his tail at home. Bring the babies, even if they're wild things, & capture this beautiful time in their lives that you will never get back!
As always, feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. I assure you that you'll never look back & think "I should have never booked that session with my family that year." 🙂
