By request, here is the St. Francis Fountain location found at the foot of the western side of Mt. Rubidoux, located across the parking lot from the dog park. The postcard was printed in 1932. My photos were taken on 2/2/23.

I will quote page 80 of Steve Lech’s book, “Riverside in Vintage Postcards” when describing it. I picked up my copy of his book at Barnes & Noble and I love it! I highly recommend getting a copy for yourself.

The St. Francis Shrine/Fountain was dedicated on June 16, 1916, and was sponsored by both the Audubon and Humane Societies. Charles Loring gave most of the necessary money. This structure and set of plaques were visible from the Santa Ana River bridge, and greeted visitors to Riverside coming in from West Riverside.
