Roanoke Photography Collective exists to create a casual space for connection between local photographers in Roanoke, VA in order to build a community where photographers can learn from each other, meet up and collaborate, and showcase each other’s work.

We’ll be meeting up this Sunday, 6pm at Atheling Meadworks for our monthly photowalk. We’ll plan to start walking around 6:30. The weather is looking comfy so come hang!

Heyyo, the weather is looking beautiful this weekend and the azaleas are blooming so we’re going to do another photo walk this Sunday 6pm at Happy Hollow Gardens Park. Come catch some nice light and enjoy one of the prettiest nearby places to be this time of year. Please message us if you would like a ride or to coordinate carpooling as parking can be limited 🌺✨

For our monthly meetup tomorrow, we’ll be meeting at Morningside Park in Southeast near the community garden (917 Morgan Ave SE) at 5pm. We’ll explore the park, garden and nearby neighborhood while connecting through photography. All are welcome to join and hope to see you out there!

It’s real cold y’all. So we’re gonna get cozy at Blindhouse tomorrow at 2pm and look at some photo books in lieu of our usual photo walk to keep our first Sunday of the month tradition going. Bring a favorite photo book/zine or two, or print(s), or just yourself, and connect with others in the community while sharing appreciation for photography and supporting a great local business. Dress warm and be prepared for slightly abnormal roads/parking with the recent winter weather. All are welcome and hope to see you there!

Last photo walk/hang of the year tomorrow! Sunday, 3pm at . We’ll get cozy inside for a bit and then get out and hopefully catch some nice light sneaking through as the sun drops. Blindhouse has some awesome NA options for those who may want something other than beer. Hope to see you there!

We hangin’ tomorrow! A bit early due to the time change but we will meet at the top of Mill Mountain near the Discovery Center at 3pm and walk around to take in the views, garden, trails and hopefully some Fall colors. Fancy camera, phone camera, no camera, everybody’s welcome!

Got a little mid-month photo walk action this week! GO Fest is this weekend so there will be a lot happening downtown and much to photograph. Local architect and photographer Michael Lawson () will guide a casual photo walk and be available to talk architecture and architectural photography. We will meet at 5:30pm at the booth in Elmwood Park (see map on next slide). Just like our monthly photo walks, this is open to anyone, all skill levels and cameras, and just a chance to get out with your camera, work on some architectural photography (or any kind you want), and meet some cool folks. Hope to see you out there!

We’ll be meeting at A Few Old Goats Brewing in Old Southwest before we take a walk and capture some lovely golden hour light ✨ The weather gods seem to have blessed us with more gorgeous weather so come enjoy it with us!
