A few weeks ago I woke up on the wrong side of just about everything. I packed my work bag, and left to a photoshoot. The whole way there, I was praying and trying to shake myself out of my funk.

Wouldn’t you know that as I pulled up this was the sight I first saw? My shoulders immediately dropped as I said the words “ohhhh my goodnessssssss” out loud in my car.

There’s something about being on the outside looking in. From out here, you don’t see the laundry or the long nights or whatever kind of morning happened before you arrived. You just see a mama kissing her baby at the window.

Sometimes when you’re right in the middle of your own life, it’s hard to see it clearly. The ordinary and the chaos start to feel heavy and impossible.

Shoutout to God who knew if I could just step outside of it all for a minute, I might be able to see what He sees.

A whole lot of good tucked into every regular, chaotic, impossible, extraordinary day 💛

I lost count how many times I cried or got glassy eyed during Ruby and John’s day. Just two really young kids getting married who love each other and the Lord fervently.

I was washed over by the reminder of the simplicity of life.

Love well, work honestly, raise some children, tend to what God has given you, love your neighbor, live quietly.

We drove home remembering that we also were once those two young kids getting married and what a beautiful thing it is to grow and grow up with the love of your life.

Praying for countless years of a beautiful and blessed life for Ruby and John 💛
