✨ Phoenix Sage Photography is getting an upgrade! ✨

After asking my poor computer to handle approximately 47,000 photos, Lightroom, Photoshop, and whatever other chaos I decide to throw at it… I figured it was probably time. 😂📸

So, I’m making the jump to a new computer! 💻🙌

Is learning a new setup going to involve some questionable language and a lot of coffee? Almost definitely. ☕️😂 But I’m SO excited for faster editing, smoother workflows, and spending less time staring at a spinning wheel while my computer contemplates its life choices.

Just another little behind-the-scenes investment in Phoenix Sage Photography and in being able to give my clients the best experience — from the moment I pick up my camera to the final gallery. 💜

Now… wish me luck transferring everything. 😬😂

Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day—a day to remember the animals who left paw prints, hoofprints, and pieces of themselves permanently woven into our lives.

One of the beautiful things about photographs is that they let us revisit the little details time has a way of softening—the expression in their eyes, the way their ears sat, the gray beginning to show around a muzzle, or the way they leaned into the person they loved.

If you’re missing one of yours today, I hope you have a photograph that takes you back, even for just a moment. ❤️

Had such a wonderful time behind the camera today at the Treasure State Cowboy Mounted Shooting competition in Roundup! 📸🐎💨

There’s nothing quite like photographing the combination of talented horses, skilled riders, speed, and a whole lot of action!

I’m sorry I wasn’t able to be there yesterday or capture everyone competing today, but I’m so glad I was able to make it out and photograph as many of you as I could. Thank you for letting me capture a little piece of the action—basic edits have been uploaded to the website! ❤️

For anyone hoping to catch me today for mounted shooting photos or portraits with your horses, I’m hoping to be out at the fairgrounds Sunday with my camera. 📸🐴

I had planned to be there today, but life had other plans. We had an unexpected emergency in the middle of the night that ended with the loss of one of our much-loved animals this morning. I needed to give myself today to process everything, decompress, and just be home with my family.

Sometimes you have to put the camera down for a minute. ❤️

I’m hoping tomorrow brings a little easier day, some fresh air, horses, and a camera in my hands.

Photography is so much more than taking a picture—it’s capturing the little moments, big personalities, genuine connections, and memories we never want to forget.

Apparently the best way to grow as a photographer is to get a bunch of us together with cameras, good ideas, lots of laughs, and absolutely no shortage of opinions. 😂📸

I had such a great time at this Western Lifestyle workshop learning new things, trying different ideas, talking photography, and just being around people who genuinely want to see each other succeed. Photography can be a pretty solo gig, so it’s always a good reminder that there’s plenty of room for all of us to create, learn, share what we know, and build each other up along the way. ❤️

A huge thank you to Andrea Rieger of Andrea Rieger Photography for putting together such a fun and inspiring workshop and creating a space for photographers to learn from and support one another. 💛

And of course… I couldn’t leave you without a little sneak peek of a few images from the workshop. 👀📷
