My New Year's post, but a little late.
This year we lost our home to a fire (Jan 19), while I was 16 weeks pregnant with our twins boys.

During the fire we thought we had lost one our dogs and our cat, which both miraculously both survived. (Midna(dog) pulled out 45 minutes after fire ignition and Fawkes(cat) we found in the rubble in a little crevice 24 hours later).

I could barely touch a camera until the boys were born 6 months later, and after a 2 weeks NICU stay very sick with lung issues.

We got them home and immediately I found a way to take pictures again. Of my dogs, my boys, my friends. I found a purpose to document our lives, not just create art.

I want to take pictures that make us feel, even if it's just me having the feeling.

I hope to create more surrealism in the future, but right now my focus is documenting our lives.

This particular photo means so much to me, as I almost lost this dog in the fire and my new son absolutely adores her. I don't know what I would do without this dog. She sleeps with me in bed every night since the fire and has been an absolute doll during the pregnancy, post partum, and now getting snuggles from the boys.

All I take pictures of are my dogs and children now. I love the pictures of my children, but they aren't for public consumption.

Just sharing this post again because it is a good collection of what I do! Due to the fire I have lost a lot of my photos, so I rely on historical posts to show what I can do. Really want to get into shooting people again, please feel free to reach out. I know I have been on break, but I have still be growing as a photographer and have focused my skill on film-forward or a nostalgic digital style.
