Sometimes I lack in the department of sharing about myself as so many of you are my local friends and family. But with so many new faces who have joined us recently, I thought a little reintroduction was necessary. 😎

Here is us. 🤎 Well, 3 of us, plus we have two golden retriever babies that are definitely considered part of the family. 🐶🐶👶🏻 I was lucky enough to share my birthday with our son Major last November and even more lucky for dad— this should be an easy date to remember now (you’d think anyways🤣). This little blue eyed boy has been the biggest blessing brought into our lives and has taught me to slow down and enjoy life differently, more intentionally.

Anywho— enough with the sappy stuff. 😜 I’m a photographer who loves a pretty sunset, but someone who’s grown to love shooting in full sun too. Something that use to scare me and I’d avoid completely. I’ve also developed a passion for shooting in harsh sunlight in my studio. ❤️‍🔥

I have an internal battle that plays in my mind all day if I like shooting color or neutrals better. 🤣 I think there is absolutely a time and place for neutrals, but color will always take the cake for me personally.

After doing this shin dig for a few years now, I’ve become a lot more comfortable saying no to the types of sessions that don’t bring me joy. Unfortunately there is only one of me and I have prioritize what types of sessions I love and pour 100% effort into those sessions. Honestly I think that’s where your bouquet really starts to bloom💐 in this industry is when you only take on the types of sessions that bring you joy.

Next on the docket— styling! My favorite words are “You have full reins Lexie, we trust you!” 😍🙏🏻 I take a lot of pride in putting outfits together and finding unique pieces for my clients. Regardless of what vibe your after, I’m here to help you. In my opinion, that’s a huge perk in booking with me because I will happily style your entire fam or senior session at no additional cost!

✨I use to hate coffee until I craved it while pregnant and now I look forward to having one almost daily 😅☕️

✨My husband was born with a tooth and I was terrified my child was going to have one too when he was born 🤣

✨Favorite food— steak 🥩

✨I shop too much 😬🛍️

✨I’ve tried hard to implement an online booking system and automated emails for this business and seriously just can’t give up the control of doing it all by hand & pen and paper 🙃

✨I still sleep with my baby blanket (idgaf if you judge me) 😏 It’s in prime condition for being 28 years old 😌🤌🏻

✨I have a very fun and competitive family… on both mine and my husbands side. My dad and I will play a card game and you’d literally think there was $1M on the line, like everytime. ☠️

✨I really want to visit Alaska and Canada. Any recommendations for trips to those two places?!

✨I appreciate a freshly cut and striped yard 🤤

✨I am an Iowa State Cyclone alumni who uses her degree everyday! Haha… 🙃😝 but I’d go back in a heartbeat to do it all again for the memories & friendships made. ❤️💛

I’ve always been so in awe of how much one pound can make such a difference when a baby is born. This small but mighty little girl came to the studio right around 5 lbs. Just itty bitty. 🥹 I opted to take a safe approach and wrapped her for the entire session. And not to mention she didn’t quite fit into much of my newborn client closet. 🤭

It is okay to pivot and take different approaches to a newborn session based on the needs of each individual baby. Every newborn session is different and it’s important to be flexible in your methods for safest practice for the babe.

I love the shots we got of miss Kastelle! 🌸🤎 She snoozed through her entire photoshoot. 😴

One of the greatest feelings in the world is having my friends on the other side of my lens. And now my friend’s babies....

Special doesn’t have to mean perfect, & I think that’s the beauty of it… Still in the building process of their forever home, and some projects might not be checked off the list just yet. I secretly think Jameson likes all the projects because that means more dirt piles. 🤭
