My cat became obsessed with guacamole, now we have to guard the bowl from him.

When we first adopted him, he was scared of everything, wouldn’t eat, wouldn’t play, barely came out. But the day I made guac, something clicked. He dipped a paw in, and from then on, it became his comfort.

Now, every time he hears someone in the kitchen, he sprints in hoping there’s guacamole, and if we don’t cover the bowl fast enough, he tries to dive right in like it’s his happy place.

A tradition used to honor loved ones is about to become illegal in parts of the United States.

Beginning August 1, 2026 Louisiana will outlaw outdoor helium balloon releases, enforcing steep fines to combat the ecological damage caused by 'sky litter'.

Signed into law as Act 196, the new legislation treats intentional balloon releases under the state's littering laws. This measure, aimed at preventing environmental pollution and protecting wildlife, has sparked a poignant debate.

For years, communities have used balloon releases as a deeply personal way to grieve and memorialize lost loved ones. Activists argue that stripping away this tradition limits emotional expression during difficult times, while supporters point out that the brief ritual leaves behind a devastating, long-term ecological footprint.

Once released, these balloons can travel miles before drifting down to choke forests, contaminate coastal marshes, or entangle wildlife in strings—often with fatal results.

Additionally, metallic Mylar balloons pose a serious threat to utility systems, frequently causing power outages when they interfere with electrical grids. Under the new law, first-time violators face a $500 fine and eight hours of community service, with subsequent offenses escalating to a $2,500 fine and driver’s license suspension. While exceptions exist for children under 17 and accidental or indoor releases, officials are urging the public to embrace eco-friendly alternatives like candlelight vigils, planting trees, or blowing bubbles.

“I drive a school bus and have a 6 grader who I would like to talk about.

Last week he was talking about an elderly neighbor not leaving her house for weeks. I tried to explain how hard it could be for her to do things. On Tuesday I pulled up and he wasn't at the stop waiting. I looked over and saw him shoveling her porch. I was early so I waited for him. The other kids asked why I waited. I said anyone helping someone deserves a few extra minutes. All the kids started asking him questions about his neighbor. The next day 7 children got on the bus with blankets, food and cards for the elderly woman. I delivered them after worked. Now everyday she stands on the porch and the whole bus waves good morning. I am so proud of him for stepping up and doing the right thing. He taught all the children something important. I smile with pride in my heart because of the extraordinary children I have on my bus.” ❤

Homeless Couple Celebrating Their Anniversary With Their Dog Goes Viral ❤️

A photographer snapped this photo of a couple sharing a tiny anniversary cake on the sidewalk with their dog. When he asked to post it, they smiled and said yes. When he asked what happened, the man said softly: “We lost our home after selling everything to pay for our daughter’s surgery… she didn’t make it.”

They told him they’re still grateful, because “we still have each other… and our dog. That’s enough.”

A kind stranger had given them $50 earlier so they could buy the cake and celebrate their anniversary.

The photographer posted the photo, and it blew up. A GoFundMe was made, and this week, all three of them finally slept in a warm hotel as they start rebuilding their lives. Love is all they had. Now they have hope too.
